Axis SA ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Fartlek mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App is designed with a privacy-first approach: all your workout data is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Location Data

When you use the App to track a workout, we collect precise GPS location data to:

Calculate distance traveled during your workout
Generate workout routes
Determine your current city for weather information

Storage: Location data is stored locally on your device and optionally saved to Apple Health (HealthKit) if you grant permission. Your route data may sync via iCloud if you have enabled HealthKit iCloud sync in your device settings.

Permission Required: The App will request "Location When In Use" permission before accessing your location.

1.2 Health and Fitness Data (HealthKit)

If you grant permission, the App integrates with Apple HealthKit to:

Write: Workout sessions, distance, active energy burned, and workout routes
Read: Heart rate data and distance (for display purposes)

Storage: This data is managed by Apple Health on your device. We do not collect or transmit HealthKit data to external servers. Your HealthKit data may sync across your devices via iCloud if you have enabled this in your Apple Health settings.

1.3 Weather Data

We use Apple WeatherKit to display current weather conditions during your workouts. To provide this service:

Your approximate location is sent to Apple's weather service
Weather data (temperature, conditions) is saved with your workout session locally

Third Party: Weather data is provided by Apple WeatherKit, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

1.4 Workout History

The App stores the following workout information locally on your device:

Workout date and time
Total distance and duration
Exercise segments (intervals, rest periods)
City name
Weather conditions at time of workout

Storage: All workout history is stored in a local database on your device using SwiftData. This data is not synced to iCloud or any external server.

1.5 App Preferences

We store your app preferences locally, including:

Favorite workouts
Daily workout selections
Premium subscription status

Storage: Stored locally using UserDefaults on your device.

1.6 Analytics and Usage Data

We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data and app events to improve the App. This may include:

App screens visited
Features used (e.g., starting a workout, favoriting a preset)
App crashes and performance data
Device information (model, OS version)
General usage patterns

Third Party: Analytics data is collected by Google Firebase, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

No Personal Identifiers: We do not collect your name, email, or any directly identifiable information through analytics. Firebase may collect device identifiers for analytics purposes.

1.7 Purchase Information

If you purchase a premium subscription, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive only:

Confirmation that you have an active subscription
Subscription status (active, expired, canceled)

Apple Handles: Payment processing, billing information, and transaction records are managed by Apple. We never see your credit card or payment details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

Provide Core Functionality: Track workouts, calculate distance, display progress
Display Weather: Show current weather conditions during runs
Save to Health: Export workouts to Apple Health (with your permission)
Improve the App: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and fix bugs
Manage Subscriptions: Verify premium status and grant access to premium features

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

All workout data is stored exclusively on your device. We do not operate servers that collect or store your workout information. Your data remains under your control.

3.2 Apple Services

The following Apple services may store or sync your data according to your device settings:

HealthKit: Workout and health data managed by Apple Health
iCloud: HealthKit data may sync across your devices if enabled
App Store: Purchase history managed by Apple

3.3 Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your data:

Data is stored using Apple's secure SwiftData framework
Location access is limited to "When In Use" during workouts
No data transmission to external servers (except Apple services and Firebase Analytics)

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except as follows:

4.1 Apple Services

Apple Health: Workout and route data (with your explicit permission)
Apple WeatherKit: Approximate location for weather data
Apple App Store: Purchase and subscription information

4.2 Google Firebase

Firebase Analytics: Anonymized app usage and event data
Firebase Cloud Messaging: Device tokens for push notifications (if enabled)

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

5. Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we may use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send you:

Workout reminders
App updates and feature announcements

You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.

6. Your Privacy Rights

6.1 General Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

Access: Request a copy of the data stored by the App
Deletion: Delete your workout history within the App (Settings → Clear History)
Correction: Edit or delete individual workout records
Portability: Export your workout data through Apple Health

6.2 GDPR Rights (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Right to Access: Request details about the personal data we process
Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data

6.3 Location Permissions

You can revoke location access at any time in your device Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Fartlek. Note that disabling location will prevent workout tracking features from functioning.

6.4 HealthKit Permissions

You can manage HealthKit permissions in your device Settings → Privacy → Health → Fartlek. Changes take effect immediately.

7. Data Retention

Workout History: Stored on your device until you manually delete it
Analytics Data: Firebase retains analytics data according to Firebase's retention policies
HealthKit Data: Retained by Apple Health according to your device settings

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
Displaying an in-app notification

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. International Data Transfers

Our company, Axis SA, is located in Uruguay. When you use the App:

Your workout data remains locally on your device and is not transferred internationally
Analytics data is processed by Google Firebase, which may involve transfers to the United States
Apple services (HealthKit, WeatherKit) process data according to Apple's global infrastructure

For EU users, Firebase and Apple provide appropriate safeguards for international data transfers under GDPR.
